Lee Child, born on October 29, 1954, in Coventry, England, and raised in Birmingham, is a celebrated author best known for his Jack Reacher series. He attended law school in Sheffield before embarking on an eighteen-year career as a presentation director at Granada Television, where he contributed to iconic British dramas such as *Brideshead Revisited* and *Prime Suspect*.
